When Grenadaโ€™s 47TH Independence anniversary calypso competition gets underway Friday evening at the National Stadium, Anthony Darius (Young Sound) will be the first to deliver his rendition.

Thatโ€™s the position he selected when the draw for positions took place at the Trade Centre yesterday.

He will be followed by Anthony Ettienne (Grenada Michael Jackson); Jermaine Simon (Super Star); Sean Niles, (Sour Searpent) defending the title; Teddy Christopher (Top Cat); Aleisa Alexis (the Advocate); Edison Francis (Teacher Eddie); Sheldon Douglas; ninth position is Filandi Jeffrey (Stunna) and ending the show will be Raphael Johnson (Croqueta).

Young Sound, who has been away from the stage in the past years, is favouring his chances with his rendition โ€œRebuilding Togetherโ€, which, according to him, gives that nation-building feeling.

On this the 47th-year independence anniversary, Young Sound tells Grenadians leave politics asides and โ€œlove upโ€ the country.

Young Sound will be opening the show, the 47th Independence Anniversary Calypso Competition.

Ending the show is Raphael Johnson (Croqueta), one of the nationโ€™s long-standing lyrical calypsonians.

Heโ€™s entering with the rendition entitled โ€œthe Prescriptionโ€.
