There’s been no word yet from the Police whether there’s any major breakthrough in investigation concerning the armed robbery of GUT Credit Union Office in Carriacou last Friday.

Police are indicating that investigations are still continuing and promises to keep the public informed as it becomes necessary.

Police noted last Friday that armed robbers entered the GUT Credit union office at around 8.30 in the morning, and, under gun-point, made away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was hurt in the process.

A release from the Credit Union had stated that there was a breach of security by two individuals.

In view of the incident, the Carriacou branch of the GUT Credit union remains closed, until further notice.

The incident provoked a word of advice from the Parliamentary Representative for the Sister Isles for criminal elements to take stock of themselves and not contaminate the tranquility of the territory.
