The world is being put on notice for yet another time as representatives of countries gather in Dubai for whatโs labeled as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) COP 28.
Its underway today through to December 12 and World leaders and climate change activists are to convene discussions and collaborate on common issues, as well as engage in global negotiations to heighten climate action.

Leading the Grenada delegation is Honourable Kerryne James, Minister for Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy.
The Grenada delegation attending comprises some 30 delegates who will join the talks at different intervals, representing a cross-section of key ministries, all in the nation’s multifaceted approach to climate resilience and sustainable development, bringing unique expertise and perspective to the global climate dialogue.
They are to spear initiatives surrounding projects and programme relevant to Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy; Health, Wellness, and Religious Affairs; Legal Affairs; Grenada Geothermal Development Project; Climate Resilient Water Sector in Grenada (G-CREWS) Project; Innovative Nature-Based Solutions to Enhance Community Resilience; Resilient Islands Projects.
These projects will be displayed at the CARICOM Pavilion at COP 28.
Grenadaโs implementation actions, included under the projects, are raising awareness, and promoting opportunities in addition to attracting resources, including funding, to support scale-up and/or replication.
Minister James and delegates will represent Grenada in several high-level ministerial dialogues, negotiations and bilateral meetings with key international organizations, exploring partnerships with pioneering countries, and showcasing ongoing and potential climate smart projects.
This is to promote Grenadaโs national transformation agenda which aligns with its Sustainable Development Plan 2035, to guide national development priorities, including ambitious responses to climate change.
COP 28 will focus on key areas including the Global stocktake, Climate finance, Stronger Commitments to meeting climate targets and commitment to tripling Renewable Energy by 2030.
