It’s a really festive time in Grenada these days with activities surrounding the country’s 50th Independence anniversary celebrations, and on the Sister Isles, Independence anniversary activities and Carnival.
In the calypso semi-final, 13 artistes will be on stage tonight.
Major Dickson will appear in position 1, followed by Billy Collins (Billy Shackout), Nevron Gabriel (Twitty), Josh Phillip (Silver Bullet), Slade Matheson ( the PPM), Flint John (Super Flying Flint), Angelo Stafford (Quick Silver) in position 7, 8 Dante Sylvester (Play Boy, a newcomer to the calypso stage; Brendon McKie 9, Johnathan Fleary (Flavour) 10, 11 is Terry Thomas (Clean Clothes), position 12 is Hugo Alexander (the Hugo) and singing in position 13 is Nashanda Charles (Shanda)…and that’s the calypso semi-finalists in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
For the Groovy Monarch semi-finals there are 23 artistes:- Josh Phillip (Silver Bullet) will start the show; followed by Super Flying Flint, Garvin Moses (Mozo) ; Eddie Thomas, Shaniah Chase, Major Dickson, Kenique Matthew (K Empress), Jason Phillip (Big Red), Johnathan Fleary ( Flavour), Lady B; position 11, Karlius Andrew (Most Coast), followed by Dhal Calliste (My Rage), Rashid Gabriel (Regular), Dante Sylvester (Play Boy), Antonio McIntosh (Tonio the Don), Nashanda Charles, Ezron Stafford (Dezzie X), Hugo Alexander (the Hugo) in position 18; Leron Joseph ( 2 Blacks) 19; 20 is Delo Brown (L.E.D); 21 is Killer B, 22 Jerry Layne (Young 20) and Lindon Adams (Puppa Lindy).
