Meantime, the Grenada Tradesโ Union Council (GTUC) also calls for an immediate cease fire and end to the violence that is being meted out by Israel upon the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The GTUC calls upon the international community, and in particular, the United States of America, to do everything within their powers to put an end to the killing by Israel of innocent and unarmed people in Palestine.

GTUC defines it as heart-wrenching to see the indiscriminate mass killings of the civilian population in Palestine and within Gaza in particular.
The images of innocent babies being ruthlessly killed, a GTUC release on the situation states, cries out for the immediate intervention of all humanity.
With over 12,000 Palestinian killed since October 7, 2023, many of whom includes, children and women.
Being acutely aware that the brunt of the suffering is borne by working class members of the society, the Trades Union Council says an immediate cease is long overdue.ย
It goes further to state that itโs very concerned that the continued indiscriminate bombings by Israel will make life much more unbearable for a people who have been held in prison-like conditions for decades upon decades.
The GTUC also calls upon the United Nations and the USA to ensure that food, water, electricity, and medicines be immediately made available to the Palestinian people.
The use of these essentials of life as a weapon of war against the Palestinian people must be seen as a further crime against humanity and as such must be strongly condemned.ย
