Grenada Affected By A Rain Band – Flood Warning Issued

0

St. George’s, Grenada – Friday 28th September, 2018.

Grenada is being affected by a spiral (rain) band which is interacting with advective moisture along the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) from the South of the island.

Due to this, we have been experiencing heavy thundershowers and gusty winds.

According to Forecasters at the Maurice Bishop International Airport, we should see improvements in the weather by tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

A flood warning has been issued for areas so prone and a marine advisory remains in effect.

Citizens are asked to be vigilant and take every precautionary measure to ensure safety.

We further remind the general public that we are still in the hurricane season and all preparedness measures and plans should be in place to preserve life and property.

The Met Services will continue to monitor this spiral band and update the public through the various media outlets.
