October 2, 2018 – Residents of Carriacou will be updated this week on the state of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector and the initiatives that will transform the delivery of services to the population and the way business is transacted on the island.

The update will be provided when the Ministry of ICT takes its consultation titled, ‘Let’s Talk ICT’ to the sister island. The consultation will take place on Wednesday, 3rd October at the Carriacou Multi-Purpose Centre, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Honourable Kindra Mathurine-Stewart will deliver remarks, while Prime Minister, Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell will utilise ICT to speak to the participants from the private and public sectors.

The objective of the forum is to provide an overview of the major ICT projects that impact the lives of residents on the sister islands, and to outline the recently launched CARCIP Infrastructure Project which will transform the way we do business and the delivery of Government services to its citizens.

The forum also seeks to make recommendations for the way forward for ICT initiatives in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

A similar forum was held in Grenada on August 28 where Prime Minister Mitchell underscored the importance of leveraging ICT across the public service for improved efficiency.
