EARTHQUAKE FELT IN GRENADA

The UWI Seismic Research Centre today recorded a 4.1 magnitude earthquake, felt in Grenada a little after midday

The quake, measured at a depth of 87 kilometres, Its epicenter was located 35 km south west of St. George’s Grenada, 151 km northwest of Port of Spain, Trinidad and 165 km North West of Arima, Trinidad and Tobago.

The exact time recorded was 12.41pm.

It was located 11.91 North latitude and 62.04 West longitude.

The NATIONAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT AGENCY (NaDMA) said it received several reports of the event, felt by people throughout the island.

Following preliminary assessment, there were no reports of damage as a result of the earthquake.

NaDMA is again using this opportunity to remind the public of the need to always be prepared for these early onset hazards that can occur at any time and can cause harm to many.
