COMPLETION OF NEGOTIATIONS FOR KAWANA BAY & RIVERA SITE

The Government of Grenada has announced the successful completion of negotiations to lease the Kawana Bay site to investor, Naguib Sawiris, owner of the Silver Sands Hotel.

Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell made the announcement at a ribbon cutting ceremony last evening for the commissioning of Silversands Beach House in Point Salines.

Following a short period of study and design, the Silversands team will soon re-start construction at the site to complete a 5-star resort.

Part of the deal for the Kawana Bay site was the surrender of the Riviera site which sits adjacent to the Camerhogne Park on Grand Anse Beach.

This affords the government an opportunity to expand and enhance the public space on Grand Anse Beach.

The expanded public park will be declared National Heroes Park in celebration of the Nation’s heroes past and present.

There’s the general belief that the symbolic handing-over underscores the government’s dedication to responsible land use and community engagement and highlights the ongoing efforts to contribute to the betterment of the people of Grenada.
