The prudent decision to suspend visits is in accordance with established infection control measures.

This decision aligns with standard infection control practices and established Covid-19 protocols, to manage and control the situation and prevent further spread, with the safety of visitors, patients, and staff remaining paramount.

The Ministries of Health, Mental Health, Wellness, and Religious Affairs say if no new cases of Chickenpox emerge, visits to the Mt. Gay Hospital will resume on 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.

While the last case of Chickenpox was medically cleared on March 23rd, 2024, there is need for vigilance during the fourteen-day monitoring period to ensure the virus is fully eradicated.

The Ministries of Health, Mental Health, Wellness, and Religious Affairs reassure staff, loved ones, and the public that their unwavering priority remains the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
