In an effort to improve the safety of workers and visitors, the Grenada Ports Authority (GPA), has launched its safety initiative to minimize the possibility of accidents and dangerous occurrences on the operational grounds of the port.

Activities began yesterday and will conclude on the 3rd of March.

The changes are all part of ensuring that Grenada is on par with international safety standards.

The initiative, color-coding, will be rolled out in phases from March 3 and will require stakeholders and visitors at the ports’ operational sites, to wear Colour-coded Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The initiative, according to Evans, will also be implemented at other port facilities.

Meantime, the general manager of the Grenada Ports Authority, Frank Redhead, said the ports are not responsible for procuring the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for stakeholders, but arrangements are being made for non-frequent visitors.

Redhead is asking for full compliance from stakeholders and visitors.
