THE DISTINGUISHED JAMES CLARKSON TO BE HONOURED BY THE CARENAGE AND ANGEL HARPS INTERNATIONAL GROUPING

The Newly-Formed Carenage and Angel Harps International (CAHI) will, on April 4, 2024, stage a ceremony that will honour one of Grenadaโ€™s multi-talented citizens, James Clarkson.

Clarkson, a musician, football Coach and a one-time Police Commissioner, is said to have been directly involved in life in the community of Carenage, St. Georgeโ€™s and will be recognized in this regard.

James Clarkson is on record for the outstanding service he has offered his community for more than 50 years.

As the prolific writer, Lincoln Depradine puts it, โ€œextraordinaryโ€.

James Clarkson has been the life-blood of the Angel Harps Steel Orchestra and a football coach of the team, Carenage United.

And apart from having been Commissioner of Police in the Royal Grenada Police Force, heโ€™s been once the director of the Police band.

In his musical career, also which spanned to the neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago where he was a member of the Defense Force there and also a member of the popular Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra.

Here at home, for five decades being associated with Angel Harps as an arranger, the band can boast of having won more than a dozen panorama titles.

His musical exploits are well documented.

In football, apart from being the coach of Carenage United, Clarkson excelled as a player for Atoms in the Grenada Football Association championships, and also represented Grenada in the sport.

The newly-formed Carenage and Angel Harps International (CAHI) wants Clarkson to know that it deeply appreciates everything he has done and will honour him at a ceremony April 4, 7pm, at the Grenada Yacht Club in Tanteen. James Clarkson extraordinaire!

As part of the April 4 event also, former Angel Harps captain Clevroy โ€œDepoโ€™โ€™ DePradine will launch his newly-published book, โ€œBetween My Rock and Some Hard Placesโ€™โ€™.

The publication comprises a series of anecdotes of experiences of the author, outlining his experiences with friends and neighbours, growing up in the Carenage community
