SCHOLAR RELISHES THE 50TH INDEPENDENCE CALYPSO TITLE AS A MEMORABLE ONE

The winner of this year’s Independence calypso competition with Grenada celebrating its 50th anniversary believes its call for the Nation to attend to patriotic duty.

Findley Jeffrey who captured the 2024 Independence Calypso title last Saturday night, his second such accolade, is one he will all time cherish. 

Scholar won the hearts of the judges with his rendition ‘Still Young’.

Scholar dethroned defending champion Nevion Cox who placed 6th.    

Micah Joseph ‘Baracka’ took second position and walked away with the prize of $12,000 for his performance of ‘50 Stories’. 

And, Jermaine Simon ‘Superstar’ captured third position, winning $10,000 with her rendition ‘At 50’.  

Scholar, walked away with the grand prize of $15,000 thousand dollars.
