Giving an account of the RGPF’s stewardship for 2021, Commissioner of Police, Edvin Martin, says most of the year’s activities within the Force were focused on the country’s fight against COVID-19.

Notwithstanding that COVID-19 took significant efforts from the RGPF, according to Martin, it never deterred or slowed down their momentum in the fight against crime and keeping the Nation safe.

He was speaking to reporters this morning on the RGPF’s annual end-of-year round-up.

Reduction in homicides, a 3% reduction in reported crimes, an increase in the rate of crime-solving, COP Martin speaks of further success with the seizure of arms, ammunition and narcotics, as well as with the deportation of illegal immigrants.

Martin says despite their best efforts, there are areas that have proven challenging and needing continued public and stakeholder support.
