Prime Minister Speaks Of His Government’s Attempts To Bring Relief On High Costs Of Gas And Electricity

With the prevailing circumstances pertaining to the high cost of gasoline on the World market trickling down to the high price of the commodity here, the Government is making a move to place a fixed price on the product.

So says Prime Minister, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, speaking yesterday in the 5th in his series of in-person engagements with reporters.

The question of high gas prices and the high cost of electricity was put to him and whether the Government intends to respond to provide relief.

Dr. Mitchell did state that he’s aware of the problem and it’s expected that it will one of the areas that the Finance Minister will address in the upcoming Budget.

He however hinted that the Government is seeking to cap the price of gasoline.  As it relates to electricity prices, Dr. Mitchell had this to say, hinting that the Nation can expect to hear an announcement on this in the Budget also.
