Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, breaks his silence and comments on crimes that have been pervading Grenada in recent times, particular surrounding escaped prisoners.

He looked at the situation at the South St. George Police Stations where three prisoners escaped custody but being recaptured in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, are back in police hands here, after being suspect in the killing of two US yachtees.

The Prime Minister indicated that investigations concerning the situation are said to be complete and there’s the confirmation surrounding hick-ups with standard operating procedures.

He further stated that disciplinary action will be taken, with the fact that Police have to be accountable.

Prime Minister Mitchell says the leadership at the station at the time is a matter that requires attention and an investigation in this connection is being conducted.

Prime Minister Mitchell also commented on the escape of Lyvon Date who was at the time in lawful custody appearing at the Grenville Magistrates court. He’s still at large.
