Preudhomme Buries Tuesday

One-time Member of Parliament Herbert John Preudhomme, who’s been formerly in charge of the constituency of St. John, will be taken to his final resting place tomorrow.

Preudhomme died earlier this month in the USA at age 89.

The Grenadian born who resided in the USA, acted as premier on several occasions during the struggle for Grenada to become an independent state.

Preudhomme was appointed deputy Prime Minister in the first parliament after Grenada gained independent sovereignty from Great Britain 7th February 1974.

Wee fm news understands that Leader of Government Business in the current House of Representatives Gregory Bowen has confirmed that the former MP is qualified to receive a state-funded funeral.

The former Parliamentary Representative along with his wife Joyce Preudhomme who died 26th December eight days before him will both be entombed tomorrow at the Dougaldston cemetery Gouyave, St. John.
