First Historic Referendum Faces Uphill Battle

With a mere three days before Grenadians head to the polls to vote in its first historic referendum, there’s an uphill battle brewing.

Last Friday an injunction was filed in the Supreme Court Registry by former Attorney General, James Bristol.

Bristol citied what he describes as 19 breaches of the Referendum Act by the Supervisor of Elections in meeting the requirements for holding the poll this Thursday.

Wee Fm News understands that the court papers, seeking application for an injunction, were also served to the Supervisor of Elections last Friday.

Up to late afternoon, we were told that the arguments relating to the matter were before the Judge in Chambers, Justice Roberts in the Number 2 High Court.

A ruling on the hearing will be made tomorrow at 8:30am.
