Parliamentary representative for St. Patrick West, Anthony Boatswain, give the Grenada Government the thumbs-up for repurchasing GRENLEC and returning the company fully back into the hands of Grenadians.
Boatswain was this morning speaking in Parliament where the Government tabled a motion legitimizing the move.
On December 29, 2020, the Government reportedly paid Sixty Million US) to the Grenada Private Power Limited and WRB Enterprises, Inc., through the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange for their shareholding in the Company and delivered a Promissory Note for Three Million US Dollars to be paid on/or before the 21st day of December 2022.
Boatswain welcomes the electricity supply company back in the hands of Grenadian authorities, saying that the deal to WRB was a bad one.
