Despite a low voter turnout in the snap elections in Barbados yesterday, Mia Amor Mottley will serve another 5- year term as Prime Minister of the Republic, again, with all 30 BLP seats.

The final results were announced in the wee hours of this morning, as hundreds of BLP supporters celebrated outside the Party headquarters in St. Michael.

Prime Minister-elect Mottley addressed a sea of waiting supporters that gathered on the compound and spilled into the streets.

She indicated that she will continue as Party leader and announced the re-appointment of Dale Marshall as attorney-general and Santia Bradshaw as leader of Government Business in the House of Assembly.

Well, both Mottley and Marshall were sworn-in this afternoon, after another BLP emphatic clean-sweep election victory.

Mottley took the Oath of Office at the country’s State House before President, Her Excellency the Most Honorable Dame Sandra Mason, in the presence of family, well-wishers and fellow successful candidates.

While expressing thanks to Barbados and the Party’s campaign manager, Ms. Mottley says her Government is humbled by the confidence placed in it by Barbadians.
