The Ministry Of Health has once again sent out notice advising the public to avoid misinformation which it says can literally make the difference between life and death, as Grenada battles its way through what is now viewed as a critical phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A release on the matter is indicating that the Government of Grenada, through the Ministry of Health, is the conduit of official, factual and credible information and that any information relating to policy and response concerning the pandemic will from the Ministry of Health.

REPORT:

As Grenada navigates its way through curbing the recent COVID-outbreak, the Ministry of Health says it will continue to provide regular updates on the situation, and on the ongoing response mechanisms.

It sees the situation as being fluid, and, so too, will be the official information.

It’s advising the public to scale up its personal hygiene, such as the proper wearing of masks in public spaces, frequent sanitizing or washing of hands, and the continuous practice of avoiding large gatherings, and remaining six feet away from people outside their household.

A crucial element in this fight against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health says is vaccination, noting that all scientific studies show that vaccines are proving to work in preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death.

And, that currently, Grenada has two WHO-approved vaccines for dissemination to the public, AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

There are vaccines are available at vaccination centres, including the National Stadium available to the public daily, free of cost.

The Ministry continues to encourage anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19, or who is experiencing symptoms that are consistent with COVID-19, to immediately isolate themselves from others and call 458-4787 or 538-4787, or your nearest health centre or medical station to request testing.
