On the occasion of teachers day today, Education minister Emmalin Pierre challenges teachers to continue being agents of change.
She indicated that many teachers in this difficult period have demonstrated great leadership and have turned many challenges into opportunities.
Moving from the face-to-face mode to online teaching and learning according to her was indeed a challenge, and that their attitude and willingness to learn and try, created a wonderful opportunity for students.
She noted the adage that the test of true leadership depends on how well one functions in a crisis.
She further thanked the teachers for their efforts and sacrifices, and further challenged them to remain focused on the global education target of ‘leaving no child behind.’
