It’s being reported that major strides have been made in Grenada’s national HIV/AIDS programme this year, and plans are in the pipeline for further development come 2024.

In 2023 the developed standardized rapid testing training programme for nursing personnel in HIV and syphilis was conducted, for approximately 13 nursing and mid-wives’ professionals.

Acting Chief Medical Officer in the ministry of health wellness and religious affairs, Dr. Shawn Charles, says this year as well, more treatment options were made available for children, through the provision of new and updated drugs.

Dr. Charles says plans for next year include expanding the programme into primary health care.
