Grenlec Makes Appeal For Their Poles To Free Of Hindrances For Safety Response

0

The Grenada Electricity Company (GRENLEC) has released information asking the public to avoid certain practices concerning poles which hinders response time in dealing with emergencies.

It wants the public to keep signs away from electricity poles.

GRENLEC is telling citizens that for safety sake, do not put signs, posters, or banners on electricity poles.

In an emergency, GRENLEC says signs, nails, staples, and glue make it difficult for Grenlec linesmen to safely climb poles which delays response time.

It went on to say that signs also cover the Pole Numbers that are necessary to report a fault.

The Pole Numbers help Grenlec identify the exact location of the problem which speeds response and restoration.

The problem of sticking posters and other billboards to poles is usually prevalent at around festive times.
