Addresing the Pro-Tempore Presidency installation, Peter David, Grenadaโ€™s Foreign Minister, highlighted the importance of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

He sees it as a mechanism to bring countries of the region closer.

Mexico has assumed the Pro-Tempore Presidency for 2020 from Bolivia.

He lauded Mexicoโ€™s work plan, which contains issues of concern to Grenada and other CARICOM countries, such as resilience and disaster risk management, sustainable management of ocean resources, governance and science and technology amongst other areas.

Grenada supports the work plan, the Foreign Minister says relating to the excellent bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Mexico is known to have contributed two million dollars towards the construction of the Grenadaโ€™s new Parliament building at Mt. Wheldale.

Minister David is accompanied by Foreign Service Officer, Cyrilla Steele, responsible for the Americas.

The delegation returns to Grenada later today and itโ€™s expected immediately after Minister Davidโ€™s return, heโ€™ll visit the scene of the City fire.
