GRENADA MAKES CALL FOR ASSISTANCE IN TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS TO AID ​SMALL ISLAND DEVELOPING STATES TO IMPLEMENT ADVANCE RENEWABLE ENERGY INITIATIVES AND RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURAL UPGRADES IN THE FACE OF CLIMATE IMPACT

Minister of Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy Hon. Kerryne James, makes a call on the global scene for assistance in technological solutions for Small Island States like Grenada so as to implement advance renewable energy initiatives.

Minister James has been representing Grenada at the fourteenth session of the International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) Youth Forum in Abu Dhabi.

She also highlighted the need for resilient infrastructural upgrades, in the face of staving off climate impact!    

The IRENA Youth Forum comes to an end today.

The session placed emphasis on the theme “Outcome of COP twenty-eight infrastructure policies and skills for tripling renewables and accelerating energy transition”. 

Minister James outlined Grenada’s comprehensive strategy for energy transformation aiming to achieve a 40% renewable energy share by 2030.

Recognizing the hurdles faced on Grenada’s path towards renewable energy, Minister James appealed to international agencies for support.

The Grenada Renewable Energy Minister also emphasized the crucial role of technological assistance for small states in the area of renewable energy solutions.
