Grenada has launched a Climate and Ozone Protection Alliance Program aimed at addressing the unique challenges presented by Ozone Depleting Substances.

The alliance programme was co-organized by the National Ozone Unit within the Ministry of Climate Resilience, the Environment, and Renewable Energy, in collaboration with the German Development Corporation.

With the growing demand for cooling and air conditioning units rising sharply, the Climate and Ozone Protection Alliance (COPA) works jointly with partner countries across private and public sector to formulate solutions to reduce the presence of the substances.

The Climate and Ozone Protection Alliance (COPA) is to crucial role in addressing existing gaps, according to the representative for the German Society for International Cooperation, Maja (Maya-Smur-jer) Schmauser.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy, Peron Johnson, expressed gratitude to COPA and all relevant stakeholders for granting Grenada the opportunity to participate in the programme.
