Grenada extends its lead in Group “C” of League “A” in the CONCACAF Nation’s League.

The Spice Boys climb to 10 points from four games.

This was after a wonderful display last night at the Kirani James Athletic and Football Stadium, with a 1-nil second-leg win over rivals French Guiana.

In their first-leg match last Thursday Grenada pulled off a nil-nil draw.

Last night following a nil-nil first half, the Grenada team hit the offensive mark regularly , while at intervals the slippery French Guiana strikers went forward only to be denied by great defensive work of goalkeeper  Jason Belfon and his back troops.

It was not long after Ricky Modeste, receiving his marching ticket, sent off for a very evasive side-by-side on-the-run- tackle on one of the French Guiana strikers, that the Grenada team found extra vigour.

Grenada was down to ten men and not long afterwards striker Jamal Ray Charles was on the run.

Charles, skillfully, taking down a high pass in the 65th minute of play and going on the dribble, eluded his marker and pumped a powerful strike from an acute angle, away from goalkeeper Simon Lugier in the far right-hand corner, to give Grenada the advantage, one-nil.

Now, with French Guiana on an all-out thrust, the Grenada team soaked up the rest of the play, but without Jamal Ray Charles who was carted off the field favouring what looked like a torn thigh muscle.

Grenada maintains the lead in its group by a big 5-goal margin.

Its next match will be a second-leg away encounter against St. Kitts/Nevis on the 14th of next month.

When both teams met here Grenada won 2-1.
