Persons in the creative industry will soon be able to access funds from the Grenada Development Bank to develop their businesses or business ideas.

This, as the Grenada Office of Creative Affairs (GOCA) last Friday launched the Cultural and Creative Industriesโ€™ Business Development Fund, in partnership with the Grenada development bank.

1 million dollars has been set aside for the purpose of loans and 500 thousand dollars each for grants and business support vouchers.

Advisor with responsibility for the Creative Economy, Orlando Romain, says theyโ€™ll begin accepting applications effective today, and loans will be disbursed from January 2024.

General Manager of the Grenada Development Bank, Royston Cumberbatch, says the institution has put measures in place to ensure the system is efficient and will cater to the needs of the individuals who are seeking loans.

Minister for the Creative Economy, Lennox Andrews, speaking at the launch, reiterated the governmentโ€™s commitment to develop the country with people being at the centre of development.
