Minister Of Finance, Gregory Bowen, today presented a one billion, two hundred and thirty two million, six hundred and seventy thousand and forty-nine dollars Budget, to take into account the government programmes and projects for the ensuing year.

The Budget comes at a time where Grenada, like countries the World over, continues grappling with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has done untold economic disruption.

Grenada, Bowen says was on a progressive track prior to the entry of the pandemic.

He mentioned there were significant strides in reducing Grenada’s debt vulnerabilities and in regaining international credit worthiness, with the country’s public debt to GDP ratio falling from 108% in 2013 to under 60% at the end of last year.

Minister Bowen outlined the 10 largest areas that will receive funding.

The finance minister says the financing of the 2021 budget will come from the National Transformation Fund (NTF) grants.

It’s his first budget delivery having been placed in the position on account of the Prime Minister’s mid-term Cabinet reshuffle.

The 2021 Budget is fashioned under the theme, “Towards Vision 2035: Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience.
