An interim committee has been established to lead the Traditional Individual and Mas Band Association (TIMBA).
This is as a result of a meeting that was held last Saturday by the Grenada Cultural Foundation with Traditional Mas Bands.
Fourteen individuals were in attendance representing their different Bands.
Dr. Guido Marcelle gave a well-received presentation on the significance of traditional bands in Grenada.
The Grenada Cultural Foundation took notice of the concerns raised by the practitioners at the meeting.
Following the meeting, an interim committee lead by Dr. Guido Marcelle as the Chairman was established to lead the associationโs first development.
The other committee members are Ian Charles- Assistant Chairman, June Peters- Recording Secretary, Chrislyn Lashington -Floor Member and Livingston Nelson -CEO, Grenada Cultural Foundation.
The group will be recognized as the Traditional Individual and Mas Band Association, or TIMBA.
