Chinese Nationals Celebrate Lunar New Year

The Chinese fraternity here is celebrated what is dubbed the Lunar New Year.

This is considered to be a very important holiday in China and other Asian countries.

It’s seen as an opportunity to re-unite with family and celebrate traditions dating back over 4,000 years.

Chinese nationals based in Grenada are engaged in their cultural festivity.

Protocol Officer at the Chinese Embassy here, Jason Yin, tells Wee Fm News the celebrations which bring in the New Year last for over two weeks.

In keeping with the observance of Covid-19 protocols, Yin says the celebrations have been scaled down.
