The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) is currently investigating the cause of a structural fire that occurred on Friday, 27th March 2026, along Grand Etang Road, St. George.
At approximately 3:43 a.m., officers attached to the Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at the Old James Hotel ( old CID building) . Upon arrival, they observed the two-story abandoned building fully engulfed in flames. The fire crew acted swiftly, utilizing over 11,000 gallons of water to contain and extinguish the blaze. Nearby buildings were not affected.
The RGPF reminds the public to act responsibly, particularly during the severe dry season, to minimize the risk and impact of fires.
