Sallee Sixers Takes Western Basketball Competition Title

The inaugural Western Basketball Competition has ended and Sallee Sixers reign supreme, capturing the title two-nothing in the best-of-three final.

It was another thriller, ending 87-82 in Sixers’ favour over Knockers.

The Alexanders were again on the rampage for Sallee Sixers, with Kendell Alexander netting 37 points and Kerry Alexander 20.

For Knockers, the names Elmond Williams and Syrano Joseph come up predominantly on the score sheets.

Williams netted 31 points and executed 13 rebounds, while Joseph pumped in 20 and had 4 rebounds.

In the 3rd and 4th-placed play-offs, Showtime beat Soul Rebels by two points, in an exciting finish, 74-72.

For Showtime, Greig St, John scored a game-high 34 points.

Kendall Alexander of Sallee Sixers was voted the MVP of the tournament; Delon Alexander of Sallee Sixers (Best Defensive Player); Syrano Joseph of Knockers got the prize for the player with the most three-pointers in a game (11); Soul Rebels (Best Discipline Team); and Albion Phillip of Knockers was voted Coach of Tournament.
