National Flags At Half Mast For One Week From Today In Honour Of The Late Elvin Nimrod

For one week as of today, National flags are being flown at half mast, in honour of the late Elvin Nimrod, a one-time Government Minister and Parliamentarian.

Mr. Nimrod, who held several portfolio’s over a long-standing period of Government service, including that of Minister of Foreign Affairs, passed away last Saturday.

Prime Minister Mitchell and his New National Party (NNP) paid tribute to the late Elvin Nimrod.

Addressing the 47th Independence Anniversary parade Sunday, Dr. Mitchell noted that Elvin Nimrod’s service to the Nation was rather outstanding and that the people of the Sister Isles have lost an illustrious son of the soil.

Among other portfolios held by the late Elvin Nimrod included Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Local Government, Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, and International Trade.

Nimrod will be granted an official funeral.

A date is yet to be announced.
