MET OFFICE ISSUES HEAT ADVISORY

The Met Office today sent out notice informing citizens of a heat wave in effect for the next 48 hours.

Today marked the 2nd consecutive day with temperatures above 31.7 degrees Celsius at Point Saline’s.

It says model guidance indicates relatively high temperatures and hazy conditions over the next few days.

The met office explains that a heat wave is 2 or more consecutive days with temperatures 31.7 degrees Celsius or greater.

They ‘re advising individuals to dress appropriately, stay hydrated by drinking plenty water, cut back on alcoholic consumption, avoid closed spaces and look after the young, the elderly and pets.
