GTAWU & SGU Signs Collective Bargaining Agreement

PR – The Grenada Technical and Allied Workers‘ Union (GTAWU) and the St. George’s University Limited (SGU) on Thursday, February 12th, 2026 signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the period 1st July 2022 to 30th June 2028.

The signing was done before Labour Commissioner, Mrs. Sparkle Grenade–Courtney. Signing on behalf of the Company were: Mr. Greg Hendel – Chief Campus Operations Officer and Senior Vice President, Ms. Dawne Buckmire – Vice President Business Administrator, Mrs. Camila Williams–Johnson – Human Resources Director and Mrs. SkeetaChitan–Sylvester Attorney–at–Law. Signing of behalf of the Union were: Messrs. Andre‘ Lewis – President General, Trevor Xavier – Chief Grievance Officer, Kevon Noel – Shop Steward, Ron Greaves Workers‘ Representative, Ms. Kadisha Andrew – Industrial Relations Officer and Ms. Gleaner Lewis – Shop Steward.

The Agreement saw amendments which includes: Starting salaries to a level no less than twenty percent (20%) above the Grenada National Minimum Wage Order; salary increases of four percent (4%) for 2022/2023, four percent (4%) for 2023/2024, four percent (4%) for 2024/2025, four percent (4%) for 2025/2026, five percent (5%) for 2026/2027 and five percent (5%) for 2027/2028; increases on Night Differential Allowance; payment of Drivers‘ License Fee.

The CBA also covers benefits such: Health Insurance; Uniforms and Protective Clothing, Pension and Grievance Procedure.

The Union and SGU will continue their engagements at seeking to resolve the long outstanding matter of payment for the years of service to the SGU ‘Unvaccinated Workers‘, who were not allowed to enter the Company’s premises to perform their work since June 2021.
