PR – The High Commission for Grenada to Canada hosted its first Diaspora Meet & Greet Engagement in Montreal on Saturday, November 15, 2025. This meeting featured Honourable Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade & Export Development, His Excellency Sylvester Quarless, High Commissioner for Grenada to Canada and Mr. Gerry Hopkin, Consul General for Grenada in Toronto.
Minister Andall stated:“All Grenadians are Ambassadors for Grenada and should carry a badge of honour wherever they go.”
He commended the Diaspora for their patriotism and love for country, thanking them for their continued contributions to Grenada’s development despite the harsh Canadian winters. Members were encouraged to remain integrated and use their numbers, voices, and resources to advocate policies for their homeland.
His Excellency Sylvester Quarless, High Commissioner for Grenada to Canada, urged greater involvement from the Grenadian community, particularly second, third, and fourth-generation Grenadians. He emphasized that the Grenada High Commission in Ottawa is available to facilitate information flow through outreach and announced plans to engage Grenada Associations across Canada and create social and civic groups to strengthen connections with the Diaspora.
Minister Andall highlighted that the re-establishment of the Grenada High Commission in Ottawa will serve as a critical platform for political dialogue between Grenadian and Canadian officials, ensuring the best outcomes for Grenadian citizens both in Canada and at home.
This engagement marked the final stop in a series of activities during Minister Andall’s visit to Canada. Earlier in the week, he met with the Grenadian Diaspora in Toronto on November 12, 2025, and officially re-opened the Grenada High Commission in Ottawa on November 14, 2025.
