Grenada Diaspora Homecoming 2026 officially welcomedย returning Grenadians and invited guests with a special Welcome Reception held at Belmont Estate, hosted by Hon. Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development.
The reception formed part of the opening activities for Grenada Diaspora Homecoming 2026, a national initiative designed to reconnect Grenadians from across the world with the homeland through culture, community engagement, investment dialogue, professional exchange and national development.
Held in the historic and culturally rich setting of Belmont Estate, the evening brought together members of the Grenadian diaspora, government officials, local partners, community representatives and stakeholders for an occasion centred on reconnection, belonging and shared national purpose.
In welcoming guests, Minister Andall underscored the importance of the diaspora to Grenadaโs continued development, noting that Grenadians abroad remain deeply connected to the countryโs identity, progress and future. โGrenadaโs diaspora has always been part of the national story. This Homecoming gives us an opportunity to welcome our nationals back not only with celebration, but with purpose. It allows us to deepen the relationship between Grenadians at home and abroad, to strengthen the ties of identity and belonging, and to explore how that connection can continue to support Grenadaโs development in meaningful and lasting ways.โ
Ambassador for Diaspora Affairs Terrance Forrester, reflected on the broader purpose of the Homecoming initiative stating, โGrenada Diaspora Homecoming is about more than return. It is about reconnection with intention. The diaspora represents an extraordinary network of talent, influence, expertise and possibility. When we create spaces for Grenadians at home and abroad to meet, exchange ideas and experience the country together, we are opening doors for collaboration, investment, advocacy and long-term national value.โ
The Welcome Reception offered guests an opportunity to experience Grenadian hospitality, local culture and the warmth of community that defines the Homecoming programme. It also set the tone for the series of activities taking place over the coming days, including cultural experiences, community initiatives, island excursions, the Diaspora Forum and Marketplace, National Spice Replanting Day and other events across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
Grenada Diaspora Homecoming 2026 runs from June 21st to July 5th, 2026, featuring two weeks of activities underpinned by reconnection, celebration, collaboration, business development and national pride.
