Prime Minister, the Honourable Dickon Mitchell, will attend the 40th Annual CANTO Conference and Trade Exhibition in the Bahamas, which will be held under the theme “Towards a Unified and Sustainable Gigabit Society.” The event convenes regional leaders, ICT regulators, private sector stakeholders, and innovators to shape the Caribbean’s digital future.
On Tuesday, July 15, Prime Minister Mitchell will deliver a keynote address that will focus on
Grenada’s commitment, national vision, and regional responsibility.
As the CARICOM Lead Head of Government for ICT, he will reaffirm Grenada’s dedication to fostering an inclusive, resilient, and people-centered digital transformation.
Honourable Dickon Mitchell’s address will highlight five strategic pillars driving Grenada’s digital
agenda:
• Digital Government – Advancing public service delivery through transparent and efficient
e-Government platforms.
• Digital Infrastructure – Expanding broadband and satellite connectivity to enhance
national resilience, particularly in disaster-prone areas.
• Digital Identity – Establishing secure national e-ID systems to streamline access and
prevent fraud.
• Digital Economy – Empowering entrepreneurs and small businesses with digital tools,
skills, and financial support.
• Digital Inclusion and Skills – Promoting universal access to devices, connectivity, and
digital literacy for all citizens.
During the conference, Prime Minister Mitchell will also engage in several bilateral meetings with
regional and international stakeholders.
