David Mitchell Peter Peterson, whoโs been charged for the death of Junior Lewis arising out of an incident in April 2017, was convicted earlier this week.
Itโs reported that both men were involved in an argument and Peterson reportedly struck Lewis in the head a few times, causing him medical distress.
Lewis, commonly called โCopper Manโ died in hospital the following day.
Both Lewis and Peterson were said to be mentally ill and would usually seek rest at the Grand Anse hard court area.
The argument was over a chair they would usually use for a makeshift bed.
Peterson was charged with non-capital murder.
That matter was adjudicated before a jury in the presence of the number 1 high court judge, Justice Paula Gilford.
Petersonโs sentencing is fixed for July 11.
The maximum sentence for non-capital murder is life in prison.
The general view is that the Judge will take the sentencing guidelines into consideration before handing down sentence.
