Windward Volcanoes and Jamaica Scorpions were in winners’ row in the 9th round of regional 4-day cricket West Indies matches.

After encountering a rain-affected experience, Volcanoes comprehensively defeated Trinidad and Tobago Red Force by an innings and 37 runs.

Trinidad and Tobago failed to match up falling for 172 in their first innings reply to Volcanoes 366, and following on was bundled out for 157 yesterday.

Sherman Lewis and Shane Shillingford were the destroyers, taking 3 wickets each.

Volcanoes’ batsman, Kavem Hodge, was named Player-of-the-Match for his first-innings hundred – the second of his first-class career.

In other games, Jamaica Scorpions beat Leewards Hurricanes by 57 runs.

Scorpions 197 and 235; Hurricanes, 171 and 204.

The other game, Guyana Jaguars and Barbados Pride, ended in a draw.

Guyana Jaguars remain at the top of the standings with the conclusion of the 9th round.

Guyana is way out front on 145.2 points; Barbados Pride is second with 94.6 points; followed by Jamaica Scorpions 91; Leewards Hurricanes 85.2; volcanoes 80.4 and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force 80.
