PR – Over 190 countries will come  together in Panama City to compete in the First Global Robotics Competition, a pioneering  international event where students collaborate through science, technology, engineering, and  mathematics (STEM) to address urgent environmental challenges and promote a healthier planet.

This year’s competition theme, “Eco Equilibrium,” calls on participating teams to innovate  collaboratively in ways that maximize biodiversity and protect the incredible variety of life  sustaining ecosystems worldwide—from rainforests to coral reefs. The health of humanity and  the planet depend on this critical mission.

Representing Grenada in this global event is Team Grenada, who have been preparing  rigorously since receiving their robotics kits in August. The team has been designing, building,  and programming their robot with great enthusiasm and determination. In addition to technical  preparations, Team Grenada has actively connected with international peers from countries  including Angola, Belize, Belarus, China, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Gabon,  Jamaica, Jordan, Korea, Kosovo, Mexico, Poland, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

Beyond robotics, Team Grenada has engaged in impactful community activities aimed at raising  environmental awareness. These include a beach cleanup at Flamingo Bay, educational sessions  for students in Westmoreland during Career Day, fundraising initiatives to help support club  activities, participation in a summer short film, and submission of eleven social media challenges  focused on sustainability.

The team will proudly be represented by Jada Jacob, Talisha Jessamy, Jesse Logie, Hadassah  Roberts, and Jeromy Simson, under the mentorship of Mr. Clement Commodore and Mrs. Merlisia John.

As Team Grenada and their peers from around the world take on the challenge of Eco  Equilibrium, their shared mission highlights the power of young innovators and STEM education  in shaping a sustainable future for our planet.
