The Parish of St. Mark has been thrown up on a pedestal as the best football territory in Grenada.

With a marvelous display and a valiant come from behind run, St. Mark Western Stars beat St. Andrew Big Parish Stars 3-1 to win the 2019 Pure Grenada Cup final.

The St. Mark team went to the half 1 goal to nothing down but came back with a burst of energy and confidence and found the equalizer in the 74th minute, through Lemoy Augustine…the second to go ahead by Danley Peters from the penalty spot and a last minute extender by Rickel Augustine.

In the third place play-off, St. Patrick’s Crown City Strikers also had a come-from-behind victory beating St. John dolphins 3 goals to 2.

Crown City Strikers were last year’s winners and have now occupied third place receiving 10,000 dollars; St. Andrew Big Parish Stars 20,000 and St. Mark Western Stars 30,000 dollars.

Delroy Brathwaite of the Big Parish Stars was adjudged as the Best goalkeeper of the tournament.

The player awarded the golden boots was Jamal Ray Charles of Big Parish Stars.

Jamal also received the awarded as the tournament’s MVP.

Andrew Munro of St. Mark Western Stars was undoubtedly the best coach and his assistant, Raphael Forsyte was also awarded.
