Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell is visiting Saint Lucia today, June 30, 2025, to participate in official activities surrounding the state visit of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
President Tinubu is in Saint Lucia from June 28 to July 4, with June 30 and July 1 designated for official engagements. The visit is part of a broader initiative to strengthen ties between the Caribbean and Africa.
One of the key events today is President Tinubu’s address to a joint sitting of Saint Lucia’s House of Assembly and Senate at 10 a.m., at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom at Sandals Grande, Gros Islet.
The discussions during this visit are expected to focus on economic development, education, infrastructure, and diplomatic relations.
In Prime Minister Mitchell’s absence, Honourable Dennis Cornwall, Minister for Finance, will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
