OECS education ministers are meeting in Antigua in their 8th Annual Council engagement, under the theme “Touching Lives through Data-Driven Development ”. It’s a two-day exercise.

Grenada is being represented by Education Minister, David Andrew.

The meeting provides the opportunity for policy makers to, among other things, examine selected key education issues, in keeping with the OECS Education Sector Strategy (OESS), impacting people of the OECS to agree to joint mitigation approaches, as well as secure the support and collaboration of regional agencies and development partners in advancing education in the OECS.

The participants are also expected to share innovative ideas and successful practices that have contributed to educational development at the national and regional levels.

Director General of the OECS, Dr. Didacus Jules, noted that the opportunity is before the region to collaboratively revolutionize education in the OECS.

He says harmonization of data systems has to be high priority for all Member States.
