St. Patrick’s Fishermen On Drug Bust Granted Heavy Bail

Three fishermen from St. Patrick who were charged following a drug bust last week-end have been granted bail.

25-year-old Kevin Phillip of Levera, Rawle Mc Queen, 28 years of La Fortune and 26-year-old Alvin Alexis, appeared in a Sauteurs Magistrates’ court this morning.

They were jointly charged with two counts each of trafficking of a controlled drug and conspiracy to traffic a controlled drug.

Police are reported to have seized some 280 pounds of cannabis from them on Green Island (outside Levera) last Sunday.

A small boat was also confiscated.

Phillip, Mc Queen and Alexis were placed on 100,000 dollars bail.

They’re to re-appear in court on April 11.
