0

The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) has commenced relief activities aimed at assisting our regional Partners who sustained damages from the passage of Hurricane Irma.

On Sunday a two man team led by ASP Sylvan McIntyre and Terrance Walters both former Coordinators at NaDMA left the island for Tortola to assist in recovery efforts in that British Overseas Territory that was badly damaged by Hurricane Irma.

Along with our presence in affected territories, NaDMA has also begun an island wide food drive, soliciting the public’s assistance in collecting non perishable items.

We have placed barrels labeled for the cause at supermarkets throughout the island. Participating Supermarkets are: Kalico Shopping Centers (Sauteurs, St. Patrick, Victoria Street, Grenville and Gouyave St. John), Real Value IGA Supermarket, Foodland Super Markets (Market Square and Lagoon Road) and Andall and Associates Supermarket (Parade St. George, Carenage St. George’s, the Box Shop, Grenville and Melville Street, St. George’s Branches).

To make financial donations the public is encouraged to use the account set at the Grenada Cooperative Bank, Acct. #:121004900.

Please give generously.
