On September 1, 2025, at the Palais de l’Élysée (Presidential Palace) in Paris, His Excellency Raphael Joseph presented his Letters of Credence to President Emmanuel Macron, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Grenada to the Republic of France, with residence in the Kingdom of Belgium.
During the short ceremony, Ambassador Joseph conveyed the desire of the Government of Grenada to strengthen the already friendly relations that exist between both countries, through deeper cooperation and collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
President Macron congratulated Ambassador Joseph on his appointment and reassured the new Envoy that the Government of France will work with Grenada, particularly on Climate Change, Disaster Risk Management, Cultural, Linguistic and Educational matters, as well as Information and Communication Technology.
The French head of State intimated that he was confident that through enhanced engagement with the Oversea Territories of Martinique and Guadeloupe, relations with the wider Caribbean Community will definitely grow from strength to strength.
Grenada and the Republic of France established Diplomatic relations in February 1974.
