The Ministry of Youth and Sports is proud to announce the staging of the National Youth Awards (NYA), an annual national initiative dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the outstanding contributions of young people across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
The inaugural awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 16th, at the Grenada Trade Centre, beginning at 5:30 PM.
Held under the theme, โLegacy in Motion: Empowering Youth, Driving Transformation,โ this yearโs National Youth Awards places a deliberate focus on the role of young people as active agents of change. It speaks not only to what young people have achieved, but to the momentum they are buildingโacross communities, industries, and national life. The initiative reflects a growing recognition that youth development is not a future investment alone, but a present priority that must be supported, amplified, and sustained.
Call for Nominations โ Deadline Extendedย
The Ministry wishes to advise the public that the call for nominations has been officially extended to May 15th. Individuals, organizations, and institutions are encouraged to submit nominations for outstanding young people who are making meaningful contributions across various sectors.

The National Youth Awards will serve as a premier platform to spotlight the achievements of young individuals in key areas including education, entrepreneurship, culture, sports, innovation, and community service. Through structured recognition, mentorship opportunities, and increased
visibility, the programme aims to foster civic engagement, inspire future leaders, and support Grenadaโs sustainable development in alignment with Vision 75 and the National Sustainable Development Plan 2020โ2035.

- Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Professional Excellence recognizes emerging scholars, entrepreneurs, and professionals who drive economic growth, scientific advancement, and social progress through innovation and excellence.
- Arts, Culture & Creative Economy celebrates young creatives who use talent and cultural expression to shape national identity, inspire communities, and contribute to the creative sector.
- Leadership, Service & Community Development honors youth leaders and organizations that demonstrate service, advocacy, and a lasting positive impact within their communities.
- Environment, Health & Wellness highlights the contributions of youth in advancing environmental sustainability, public health, and holistic well-being, particularly in a post-COVID context.
